Your journey begins in the vibrant heart of Kigali with a short yet enriching Kigali City Tour, where you’ll discover Rwanda’s remarkable history, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, explore local culture, and enjoy stunning panoramic viewpoints before heading east to the iconic Akagera National Park, home to the legendary Big Five.

Bush Camp Experience

Tour details

Day 1: Kigali – Genocide Memorial – Akagera National Park

• Morning Pick-Up: Depart from Kigali in a private 4x4 safari vehicle with Wi-Fi and professional driver-guide.

• Kigali Genocide Memorial: Explore this UNESCO World Heritage site, learn about Rwanda’s history, and reflect on the journey of reconciliation. Allow ~2 hours; audio guide available.

• Lunch & Stopover: Visit Bashana Companies & Imigongo Art Center for coffee, snacks, handcrafts, and a relaxing lunch.

• Arrival at Akagera: Check-in at your lodge, freshen up, and enjoy a sunset boat safari on Lake Ihema, spotting hippos, birds, and scenic landscapes.

• Overnight: Dinner and stay at  Campsite. 

Day 2: Full-Day Safari & Return to Kigali

• Morning Game Drive: Explore Akagera’s savannahs, lakes, and forests on a full-day Big Five safari. Spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos.

• Lunch: Picnic at Mihindi area within the park.

• Afternoon: Continue the safari until 3–4 pm, then drive back to Kigali.
