Day 1: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Akagera National Park with Sunset Boat Safari

Start your adventure with a morning pickup from your hotel or the airport in Kigali. Hop into a comfortable, Wi-Fi–equipped 4×4 safari vehicle and head out on a guided city tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a moving and educational experience offering insight into Rwanda’s history and resilience.

Next, depart Kigali for Akagera National Park. Stop at the Imigongo Art Center in Kayonza for lunch, coffee, and a brief art and crafts tour. Continue your journey to Akagera National Park, arriving in the early afternoon.

Check in at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge and relax, swim, or unwind on the terrace overlooking the park. In the evening, embark on a sunset boat safari on Lake Ihema. Experience a magical evening cruise, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and vibrant birdlife as the sun sets over the horizon. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive

After breakfast, head out on a full-day game drive in Akagera National Park. Enjoy a lunch stop at the scenic Mihindi Picnic Area before continuing your adventure through the northern plains of the park, renowned for their abundant wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Safari & Return to Kigali

Begin your last early morning game drive through Kilala Plain and Nyamatete, ideal for spotting big cats and elusive nocturnal species returning to rest. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then check out and begin the drive back to Kigali. Exit through the park’s north or south gate, depending on conditions. Arrive in Kigali and be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
